Julian Assange Charged With Conspiracy To Hack A Government Computer

Gizmodo reports that the Justice Department has officially charged Julian Assange with a single count of “conspiracy to commit computer intrusion for agreeing to break a password to a classified U.S. government computer".

Assange is charged with conspiring with Chelsea Manning to crack the password of a U.S. Department of Defense computer.

Prosecutors say that computer was connected to the government’s classified documents system known as Secret Internet Protocol Network (SIPRNet).
