Trump Proposes U.S. Penalty For Drug Trafficking At U.S.-Mexico Border

According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, President Donald Trump said that he was considering hitting Mexico with an unspecified economic penalty to crack down on a surge of undocumented immigration and drug trafficking at the US-Mexico border.

Trump told reporters in Washington, ā€œIā€™m looking at an economic penalty for all of the drugs that are coming in through the southern border and killing our people." Reuters reports that the statement comes in response to a rising number of migrants, many of them families with children, traveling northward from Central America through Mexico and to the southern U.S. border.
