Trump Quickly Had Michael Desmond Confirmed As IRS Chief Counsel

The New York Times reported that President Donald Trump wanted to fast-track the IRS chief counsel’s nomination.

According to Business Insider, Trump choose Michael Desmond for the position.

He spoke about his choice with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Feb.

Three weeks later, the former tax attorney at the Justice Department and Treasury Department was confirmed.

Bloomberg reported that Desmond briefly advised the Trump Organization between 2008 and 2011.
