ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION): An unidentified man ran towards a car carrying the Moroccan king during a parade with Pope Francis on Saturday (March 30), but was swiftly seized by security.

The incident occurred shortly after the pontiff's arrival in the Moroccan capital, Rabat.

It's not immediately what the man's intent was.

Television footage shows King Mohammed VI was standing in an open-top car waving at crowds during the incident.

The pope was in a separate vehicle on the other side of the street.

The king's car sped up slightly but there was no other sign of disruption.
