Patterson pleads guilty in kidnapping of Jayme Closs

Jake Patterson pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of intentional homicide and one count of kidnapping.

A count of armed burglary was dropped.

The intentional homicide counts carry a sentence of life in prison.

The man who kidnapped a 13- year-old wisconsin girl last fall after killing her parents held back tears as he pleaded guilty today in barron county.

"how do you plead to that charge.....sniff.... ...............sniff.

......guilty" 21-year-old jake patterson agreed to the plea bargain in order to save jayme closs and her family a trial.

Patterson was charged for the murders of james and denise closs... and the kidnapping of jamie in october of last year.

It wasn't until january when the teen managed to escape... flagging down a woman walking her dog.

Closs was not at the hearing but her family continues to praise her for her resiliency.

"it's just incredible.

I mean, the strength that this little girl has and the pride that we have in her for it."

Patterson will be sentenced in may.
