Boeing To Update 737 MAX Fleet With Mandatory Safety Tools

Boeing says it plans to add standard safety features as a software update to the 737 MAX fleet that was grounded this week following two fatal crashes.

Reuters reports the safety features, if included as part of the two planes that crashed, might have warned earlier of problems. Anonymous officials said Boeing will make mandatory a previously optional cockpit warning light.

Boeing’s vice president of commercial marketing said he expects the upgrade will be approved by the U.S.
