Police seek ATV driver who dragged Nashville officer

Authorities are looking for the ATV driver who dragged a police officer aliong a street in downtown Nashville Saturday during a mellee caused by riders of around 100 dirt bikes, motorcycles and ATVs.

Police seek ATV driver who dragged Nashville officer

(broll of dirt bikes, atvs) Authorities Monday were looking for the ATV driver who dragged a police officer along a street in downtown Nashville.

The incident occurred on Saturday after witnesses say, around 100 dirt bike and motorcycle riders took over the streets... (SOUNDBITE) UNNAMED UBER DRIVER SAYING: "it was just nuts" This Uber driver who does not want to be named.

But he says he saw it all unfold.

(SOUNDBITE) UNNAMED UBER DRIVER SAYING: "I was just driving down on Broadway headed down towards the river and I just saw a ton of ATV's and dirt bikes coming down the road doing willies and burning out./ "They were pretty wild, wild and all over the place and they all had like masks on over their faces, and really reckless." (pic of sergeant) Sergeant John Bourque with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department approached one of the riders but ended up getting dragged down Broadway and flung into a gate as the ATV driver drove away.

The 22-year-old veteran was was hospitalized but later releasedโ€ฆ (SOUNDBITE) UNNAMED UBER DRIVER SAYING: "They definitely could have hit people because pedestrians in Nashville don't follow the stop and go crosswalk signs, so I guess it was lucky that only one person kind of got hit I guess." Authorities are offering a possible cash reward to anyone with information on the suspect.
