Crowds Jeer as Riot Police Respond To Protest at Serbia's Public Broadcaster

Anti-government protesters stormed the Belgrade headquarters of Serbia’s public broadcaster Radio-Television Serbia (RTS) on Saturday, March 16, prompting riot police to respond to the offices in force.Video posted on Twitter shows crowds of demonstrators yelling and jeering as police bearing clubs and wearing riot gear marched past them to response to the RTS headquarters.Earlier in the evening, demonstrators forced their way into the media offices and demanded that opposition leader, Dragan Djilas, and the head of the right-wing Dveri movement, Bosko Obradovic, be allowed to appear live on television, according to reports.

Riot police responded to the location and asked protesters to leave before removing them by force. The protests have been ongoing since November when an opposition politician was attacked, and demonstrators have since called on populist Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to resign.
