In what may be another sign of the Russia probe nearing an end... one of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's top prosecutors, Andrew Weissmann, will be leaving his post... after the senior most FBI agent on Mueller's team left earlier this month..

The looming departure, confirmed by a spokesman, follows the sentencing of President Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort..

Weissmann is credited with orchestrating Manafort's prosecution for a series of financial crimes related to his work in Ukraine ..

For which he received 7-and-a-half years in prison.

Weismann is reportedly in talks to return to a teaching post at the New York University School of Law.

Also on Thursday... Trump's indicted longtime adviser Roger Stone..learned he'll face trial in November on charges he lied about his actions related to the release of hacked emails by Wikileaks during the 2016 presidential race.

Mueller is expected to soon submit his full report on Russian meddling and whether Trump's campaign may have colluded with Moscow, which Trump has long denied.
