ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) At a star-studded, hip-gyrating performance in Washington D.C., Cuban-American musical duo Gloria and Emilio Estefan were honored with the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song on Wednesday (March 13).

The Gershwin Prize recognizes a living musical artist's lifetime achievement in promoting the genre of song as a vehicle of entertainment, information, inspiration and cultural understanding.

Hosted by Andy Garcia and Rita Moreno, the ceremony included performances by Cyndi Lauper, Jose Feliciano, Patti LaBelle, Gian Marco and the couple's daughter, Emily Estefan.

But the most riveting performance was by the Estefans themselves, who certainly got many of the audience members on their feet.

Gloria Estefan has sold over 100 million records worldwide and achieved 38 number 1 hits across the Billboard charts, including "Conga," "Turn the Beat Around," "Get on Your Feet," and "Rhythm is Gonna Get You." Gloria Estefan has won seven Grammy Awards while Emilio Estefan has won 19.
