California Will Halt Death Penalty

On Wednesday, California Governor Gavin Newsom will sign a controversial executive order.

It will call for a moratorium on the death penalty in the Golden State, giving an instant reprieve to 737 people on death row in California.

The state has the largest death row population in the nation.

CNN adds, "The Democrat's order will immediately close the execution chamber at San Quentin State Prison and withdraw California's lethal injection protocol.
