New York AG Subpoenas Banks Over Trump Projects

New York's attorney general's office requested various financial records from two banks in regard to President Trump's hotels, among other things.

New York AG Subpoenas Banks Over Trump Projects

New York's attorney general subpoenaed two banks for records relating to the financing of four Trump Organization projects.

A person familiar with the situation told  The New York Times  subpoenas were issued to Deutsche Bank and Investors Bank late Monday night.

With regards to Deutsche Bank, New York Attorney General Letitia James's office is requesting various financial records in connection with Trump hotels in D.C.

And Chicago, as well as the Trump National Doral in South Florida.

They've also requested records on President Trump's failed bid to buy the NFL's Buffalo Bills in 2014.

Investors Bank, meanwhile, received subpoenas for records relating to Trump Park Avenue, a project it had backed.

To be clear, the latest probe is part of a civil investigation and not a criminal one.

The new inquiries were reportedly prompted by President Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen's recent testimony that the president had inflated the worth of his assets in financial statements.
