ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) In what was the largest cocaine seizure in over 25 years at the Port of New York and Newark, authorities brought in a haul of 3,200 pounds last month worth an estimated $77 million, authorities said on Monday.

The operation was led by the U.S. Customs and Border Protections (CBP) agency and was joined by the U.

S.

Coast Guard (USCG), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as well as local authorities.

The drugs were spread across 60 packages in a white powder that has tested positive for cocaine, CBP also said.

The CBP did say the container carrying the drugs came from South America, but little other information has been released on the investigation's progress.

The process is being led by HSI.

The seizure is the second largest ever at the joint Port New York and New Jersey, and the largest since 1994.
