The biggest fish in baseball's free agent market has finally been reeled in.

Six-time Washington Nationals all-star Bryce Harper is leaving the nation's capital for the city of brotherly love, reaching a 13-year/$330 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies, according to multiple sources.

Harper's contract, once finalized, would be the most lucrative for a free agent in Major League Baseball and North American pro sports history, and comes on the heels of infielder Manny Machado's 10-year-deal with the San Diego Padres, worth $300 million.

So while Machado will make more per year, Harper has three more years of job security - his contract's reported no-trade and no opt-out clauses further indicating his long-terms commitment to the team, which will stretch until he is nearly 40 years old.

The Phillies had the rumored front-runner to nab the right-fielder, but the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers were also circlingโ€ฆ with many suspecting the Las Vegas native might pick a big-league team closer to home.

At 19 he made his Major League debut - winning the National League's Rookie of the Year award.

With his power-hitting came lots of swagger, including his famous hair flip once the helmet came off after rounding the bases.

A healthy ego - and some un-healthy injury-filled seasons - sometimes making him the player fans loved to hate.

The addition of Harper has Phillies fans already dreaming of a World Series victory - which, if achieved, would be only the third in the team's more than 100-year history.
