U.S. President Donald Trump met Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Wednesday for a working lunch at Hanoi's colonial-era presidential palace.

NO REPORTER NARRATION U.S. President Donald Trump met Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Hanoi on Wednesday (February 27), hours before Trump was due to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for their second summit.

Trump and Phuc met at the Office of Government Hall and walked a red carpet flanked by Vietnamese students waving Vietnam and U.S. flags and chanting "hello" in English as the U.S. leader walked past.

Trump and Phuc also held a working lunch, where the U.S. president spoke about deals by Boeing Co, General Electric and the prospect of future military deals.

"We make the best military equipment in the world by far, whether it's jet fighters or missiles or rockets or anything you want to name," Trump said.

On Wednesday evening, Trump is scheduled to meet Kim at the city's Metropole hotel, eight months after their first summit in Singapore, to discuss efforts to get North Korea to dismantle its nuclear weapons program.
