'Gang of 8' Didn't Object to FBI Trump Probe Says Andrew McCabe

Andrew McCabe, the former acting FBI Director, said no one in the Congressional leadership objected to a counterintelligence investigation of President Trump when he discussed it with them in 2017.????McCabe recently revealed that he launched a probe into the president’s connection with Russia after Trump fired then FBI director James Comey to see if the Commander in Chief was working for the Kremlin.????The Congressional leadership or the so-called “Gang of Eight” at the 2017 meeting included notable Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer as well as Republicans Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan.????When asked their reaction during the briefing by NBC’s “Today Show” co-host Savannah Guthrie, McCabe said...????(McCabe SOT)??“The purpose of the briefing was to let our Congressional leadership know what we’d been doing.

Opening a case of this nature, not something not something that an FBI director, not something that an acting FBI director would do by yourself, right.

This was a recommendation that came to me from my team.

I reviewed it with our lawyers, I discussed it at length…??Did you tell Congress???And I told Congress what we had done.??Did anyone object???That’s the important part here Savannah; no one objected, not on legal grounds, not on constitutional grounds and not based on that facts.”????McCabe who was fired by Trump, recently made headlines with an interview on CBS’ “60 Minutes” where he said conversations took place within the Justice Department to remove President Trump on grounds of the 25th Amendment.????A spokesperson for McCabe later issued a statement saying he did not “participate in any extended discussions about the use of the 25th Amendment, nor is he aware of any such discussions”??

??On Twitter, President Trump called McCabe a disgrace saying “He was fired for lying and now his story gets even more deranged” ????adding that he thinks McCabe and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein got caught trying to do something illegal.
