Los Angeles to Ban Fur Sales It is now the largest U.S. city to impose such a measure.

In addition to L.A., San Francisco passed a similar law last year.

The law will take effect on January 1, 2021.

PETA, via statement Under the legislation, no fur can be used on any type of item, clothing or accessory.

Non-profits, pawn shops and secondhand stores can still sell fur that's been used before.

Fur can also be transported through Los Angeles from an area outside city limits.

Since fur sales in LA are not recorded, it isn't yet known if the ban will cause any harm economically.
