ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Vanessa Tyson, the woman who has accused Virginia Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax of sexual assault, made her first public appearance on Tuesday at a symposium at Stanford University to speak about the #MeToo movement.

"When survivors more broadly start comparing notes, right, that's when the lightbulb goes off of this has been happening to everybody.

And that's I think the most important part of #MeToo," said Tyson.

Tyson has accused Fairfax of forcing her to perform oral sex on him in a hotel room at the Democratic National Convention in 2004.

Fairfax denies the allegation.
