Government Shutdown Caused $11 Billion Blow to U.S. Economy

According to a new report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the U.S. economy took an $11 billion hit because of the government shutdown.

The report goes on to state that $3 billion of that total loss is gone for good, while the rest can be recovered when federal employees return to work.

The shutdown lasted a record 35 days due to an impasse over President Trump's request for border wall funding.
