‘Black Panther’ Makes Oscar Nomination History

“Black Panther” clawed its way to the top of the Oscars list, becoming the first-ever superhero flick to be nominated for Best Picture.

“It’s fantastic for ‘Black Panther.’ That film not only broke records at the box office but it was also a cultural milestone for many people,” Fandango correspondent Nikki Novak told Inside Edition.

In another first, Spike Lee earned a Best Director nod for "BlacKkKlansman.” It’s also the first time he’s earned a Best Picture nomination.
