Harvey Weinstein's Attorney Quits Case

New York defense lawyer Benjamin Brafman announced Thursday he will no longer represent Harvey Weinstein in his criminal sexual assault case.

In a statement, the two men said they have agreed to "part ways amicably," and that Brafman has agreed to cooperate with Weinstein's new lawyer to ensure "an orderly transition." Weinstein plans to announce his new legal team early next week.

The statement also said, "Mr. Brafman reiterated his belief that Mr. Weinstein would be exonerated of the charges that have been filed against him.... Brafman personally wished Mr. Weinstein the best of luck as he defends the case and the accusations that Mr. Weinstein has vehemently denied."
