Jayme Closs, a 13-year old who was found this week after missing for three months, was hailed as a hero by Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald.

Closs was credited for helping police capture her kidnapper after she escaped while he was away from home.

Police pulled his car over on Thursday after Closs gave authorities a description of her captor's vehicle.

In a police update Friday afternoon, authorities said Closs has been visited by family members.

A 21-year-old Wisconsin man, Jake Patterson, will be in court Monday to answer to two counts of first-degree murder and one count of kidnapping.

The teenager, who had been missing since her parents were discovered fatally shot in October, was discovered dirty and malnourished by a woman walking her dog in Gordon, Wisconsin, about 60 miles (100 km) north of her hometown of Barron.
