Trump Threatens to ‘Close Southern Border Entirely’ Amid Border Wall Showdown

President Trump has threatened to completely shut down the southern border!????The government is on the seventh day of a total shutdown as the result of a showdown over funding for a border wall, affecting around 800,000 government employees.????Taking to twitter, the President said:????We will be forced to close the Southern Border entirely if the Obstructionist Democrats do not give us the money to finish the Wall & also change the ridiculous immigration laws that our Country is saddled with.

Hard to believe there was a Congress & President who would approve!????Trump seems to be taking most of the blame for the government shutdown.

According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll, 47% blamed the president, compared to just 33% who blamed Congressional Democrats.????The deputy chief of staff for incoming house majority leader Nancy Pelosi said:????“Democrats have offered Republicans three options to re-open government that all include funding for strong, sensible, and effective border security – but not the President's immoral, ineffective and expensive wall.”????A bill that includes $5.7 Billion in funding for the potential wall does not have the votes to pass the Senate.

Trump previously rejected a bill that didn’t include funding for the wall.????(https://thehill.com/policy/finance/423061-trump-dems-dig-in-as-shutdown-heads-into-second-week)????Democrats regain a majority in the house on January 3rd, but Republicans maintain a comfortable majority in the Senate, leaving a potential compromise over government funding and border security unclear.??
