Woman Uses NOAA Photos To Save Family After Hurricane Michael

According to Business Insider, "One of the feel-good stories to come out of Hurricane Michael was the woman who spotted her relatives' call for help thanks to interactive maps from NOAA."

The woman's name is Amber Gee.

When the hurricane struck, she checked the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration maps to see how much damage it inflicted on her grandmother's home in Youngstown, Florida.

When she saw the map a huge call for "HELP" written on the lawn in downed tree branches.

Gee immediately alerted rescuers and they found her aunt, uncle, and family friend hunkering down at the property last Sunday.

They all got out safe.
