??Responding to an ABC News tweet with the headline, “Authenticity now the attribute craved by national Democrats” ??The president’s eldest son tweeted, “What’s authentic about an Irish guy pretending to be Hispanic?

Asking for some friends Texas.” ??Now, O’Rourke has been mocked for his decision to go by Beto instead of his real first name, Robert.

??Conservatives say he chose it because it sounds Hispanic but he argues it was a childhood nickname that stuck.

??Cruz even ran an ad earlier this year going after the name choice.

??“I remember reading stories liberal Robert wanted to fit in, so he changed his name to Beto and hid it with a grin.

??It’s worth noting that Ted Cruz’s full name is Rafael Edward Cruz??The Texas Senate race has been one of the most hotly contested in the country with polls showing a tight battle.

??A RealClearPolitics average of polls shows Cruz leading O’Rourke by 7 points.
