Nicole Kidman blames poor sunscreen for the amount of time she spent indoors as a child.

The actress was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Australia with her parents at the age of four, but growing up in such a hot climate spelled potential danger for her pale skin.

Having been an ambassador for Neutrogena since 2017, Nicole is now part of the brand's 'Every Day is a Sunday' campaign which reinforces the notion of applying sunblock on a daily basis, and says memories of her own childhood prompted her to get involved.

Having been an ambassador for Neutrogena since 2017, Nicole is now part of the brand's 'Every Day is a Sunday' campaign which reinforces the notion of applying sunblock on a daily basis, and says memories of her own childhood prompted her to get involved.

She's explained that for a lot of her childhood she couldn't be as outdoorsy or sporty as she would have liked.

But now raising two little girls, she wants them to be active, while still being a responsible mother and protecting their skin.

The 'Big Little Lies' star shares two daughters with her husband of 12 years Keith Urban, as well as a daughter and son from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.

And she believes that her kids are lucky to have access to a new form of sunscreen that she was deprived of in her younger years.
