Katherine Heigl apologises to fans for graveyard selfies

Actress Katherine Heigl made her fans pretty mad recently.

While visiting family in her home town of Buffalo, New York, the 39-year-old decided to stop by the graveyard where her deceased brother and grandparents are buried.

But instead of just grieving in peace, the star took to Instagram to share some selfies with the graves, followed by some crazy pictures taken by the monuments located in the yard.

Her husband Josh Kelly also uploaded a couple of videos.

In one he pretends he's walking with his arm around a ghost.

It's clear the pair had a good time, as you can hear them laughing.

However, fans were not impressed with the inappropriate behaviour of the former 'Gray's Anatomy' star and her hubbby, and left some nasty comments under the photos.

Heigl was quick to realise that she'd made a mistake and deleted the pictures.

She then uploaded an apology video in their place, in which she admits that her behaviour wasn't respectful.

Clip: Katherine Heigl Instagram "I realized, you guys are right and that was not appropriate and was disrespectful and I've taken it down.

It's kind of a heavy thing to go and visit my loved ones graves and I decided to try and find some moments of levity and humor and didn't realize how inappropriate I was being.

So I deeply apologize."
