Trump Blasts California Governor Over Limitations On National Guard Duties At Border

President Trump on Tuesday blasted California Governor Jerry Brown over limitations placed on the duties of National Guard personnel stationed at the Mexico border. President Trump on Tuesday blasted California Governor Jerry Brown over limitations placed on the duties of National Guard personnel stationed at the U.S.-Mexico border.  "Looks like Jerry Brown and California are not looking for safety and security along their very porous Border," Trump said in a tweet.

"He cannot come to terms for the National Guard to patrol and protect the Border. The high crime rate will only get higher.

Much wanted Wall in San Diego already started!"  The Washington Post reports that Brown recently announced that he would authorize the deployment of as many as 400 National Guard personnel but said they will not be performing immigration enforcement duties including surveillance camera monitoring and providing transportation for border agents.  This is not the first time Trump and the Democratic governor have been at odds over the state's commitment to upholding its sanctuary laws. Last month, Trump asserted that Brown "has done a very poor job running California. They have the highest taxes in the United States. The place is totally out of control.

You have sanctuary cities where you have criminals." Brown reportedly replied, "Thanks for the shout-out…But bridges are still better than walls.

And California remains the 6th largest economy in the world and the most prosperous state in America. #Facts." .
