Amazon Recalls Batteries Due to Overheating

Amazon Recalls Batteries Due to Overheating Amazon is recalling 260,000 of its AmazonBasics-branded external power banks.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission said there have been 53 reports of overheating, which caused melting and chemical burns.

Four reports were of property damage from fire and smoke.

The power banks are used as portable chargers for electronic devices like iPads and phones.

They cost between $9 and $40 and were manufactred by Guoguang Electric in China.
