Opening Weekend Box Office For 'Fifty Shades Freed'

It's the opening weekend for the third and final installment in the "Fifty Shades" movies, "Fifty Shades Freed." The film brought in $18.5 million on Friday, and is on track to make $40 million over the whole weekend.

Previously, projections pegged the box office in the high $30 million range.

Last year, "Fifty Shades Darker" made $46 million for it's opening weekend.

Two other films also opened in theaters this weekend.

"Peter Rabbit" and "15:17 To Paris" are expected to come in second and third place, respectively.
