Report: Rex Tillerson, Jared Kushner And Gary Cohn Could Leave White House

Rex Tillerson, Jared Kushner and Gary Cohn could reportedly leave the White House after the Republican Tax legislation goes through.

Senior administration officials told the NY Times, the White House has plans to force out Secretary of State Rex Tillerson (VO* -) and replace him with C.I.A Director Mike Pompeo.

But Tillerson might not be the only to leave.

Since Trump took office, a number of senior officials have left the administration and sources with ties to the White House say a few more names might be added to that list.

Sources told Business Insider that top economic adviser Gary Cohn has considered leaving once congress completes their efforts to overhaul the U.S. Tax System.

On the other hand, in November Cohn said in an interview with CNBC, β€œIt’s my plan to stay and work as long as I can help the president drive his economic agenda.” The same goes for the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Sources say Kushner may leave his current position if he was offered an outside adviser role.

In an emailed statement regarding whether any of these staffers will be leaving their positions, White House spokesman Raj Shah said β€œThis is pure speculation.”
