As a Christian Scientist, Engel didn't believe in going to the doctor, making her cause of death unknown at this time. She was best known for her role as Georgette on 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show.' The soft-spoken actress appeared on a number of other shows, including 'Everybody Loves Raymond' and 'Hot in Cleveland.' She also appeared on Broadway a handful of times and was a five-time Emmy nominee. Many of Engel's former co-stars and other celebrities expressed their condolences and disbelief.
