Chemical Leak At Houston-Area Petrochemical Fire Halts Ship Traffic
According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, an earthen barrier holding chemicals that leaked from a massive petrochemical fire outside Houston breached, prompting travel restrictions near the site, one of the busiest US ports for oil exports. Intercontinental Terminals Co, a unit of Japan’s Mitsui & Co, issued a shelter-in-place warning for workers at the Deer Park, Texas, fuels storage facility and neighboring businesses.
