Countries ground Boeing 737 Max 8

More than a dozen countries are grounding Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft after the second deadly crash in five months. But in the U.S., the FAA has not issued such an order. CBS News transportation correspondent Kris Van Cleave joins CBSN to discuss the latest concerns.

Countries Ground Boeing Aircraft After Fatal Ethiopia Crash The type of aircraft that crashed was a Boeing 737 MAX 8. Last October, 189 people were killed when another MAX 8 plane with Lion Air crashed. The most recent crash with Ethiopian Airlines left 157 dead. China, Indonesia and Singapore have now ordered all of their MAX 8 planes to be grounded. U.S. airlines who use the aircraft are currently saying they have no plans to do that. Southwest Airlines currently operates 34 of the MAX 8 planes. Southwest Airlines, via statement Other companies who use the plane in question are Norwegian Airlines, Icelandair and Fiji Airways.
