Highest Covid cases on Thursday, 1,081 deaths

India’s Covid-19 pandemic continued to escalate, with a record 76,489 fresh cases being reported on Thursday and the daily count staying above the 76,000 mark for the second straight day. Deaths from the virus climbed to 1,081, the second-highest daily toll recorded so far.
