2019 Grammys Ratings Nearly Unchanged From a Year Ago According to 'Nielsen,' this year's award show was watched by 19.9 million people. It's a tiny jump from the 19.8 million who tuned in last year. It's still a big drop from the 26.1 million who watched in 2017. For that age group last year, the show registered a 5.9. According to 'Netbase,' the Grammys were a hit on the internet. The media analytics firm says it produced more attention on social media than any other TV event since 2017.
