The 6 is a great car that’s often overlooked as a bit of a left-field choice in this class. That’s a pity, because it’s great to drive, terrific value for money and very well equipped. There’s also a great infotainment system and it’s a handsome beast.

Incredibly stylish and excellent value. The 508 Fastback can’t match the interior space of some rivals and rear visibility is a bit restricted, but you’ll quickly forgive it for those tasty Gallic looks. It’s not bad to drive, either.

The Superb is a huge and hugely practical family hatchback. (The estate version is so big that you could house a light aircraft in the boot.) It’s good to drive, first-rate value, nicely made, comfortable and well equipped.
