Global coronavirus cases reach 20 million as pandemic accelerates

It took almost six months to reach 10 million global COVID-19 cases after the first was reported in China. It took 43 days to double that tally to 20 million.

Global Covid-19 cases hit 20 million
The global number of Covid-19 cases has reached 20 million, according to theJohns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Centre. The grim milestone wasreached in the early hours of Tuesday morning, UK time. The total number ofglobal coronavirus deaths stands at 733,103, according to experts at JohnsHopkins, the American university whose aggregated tally has become the mainreference for monitoring the disease.
