U.S. Founder Of Baring Vostok Detained In Russia Over Bank Dispute
According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, private equity group Baring Vostok said that its founder Michael Calvey and three other employees had been detained in Moscow over a dispute with Vostochny Bank. Reuters reports that Baring Vostok holds a controlling 52.5 percent stake in Vostochny Bank. On Friday, the spokeswoman for Moscow’s Basmanny court Yunona Tsaryova told Reuters that Calvey, a US citizen, had been detained on suspicion of fraud in Moscow.
