Braxton Beverly, a six-foot shooting guard out of Virginia's Hargrave Military Academy, signed up for summer classes at Ohio State. He hoped to get an early jump on his academics, never thinking this could negatively affect his basketball career. In july, Beverly came to North Carolina State and was preparing for the upcoming season when he learned the NCAA was questioning his eligibility for 2017-18. On Friday, it was decided that Beverly's summer classes at Ohio State triggered the NCAA's undergraduate transfer rules. He was made ineligible to play for any other team as a true freshman. Beverly will now have to wait until next fall to make his debut.
