On Friday, President Donald Trump announced that he would decertify, but not withdraw from or rewrite, the Iran nuclear agreement. After delivering blistering criticism of Iran's "fanatical regime," Trump argued that the country has violated the spirit of the 2015 agreement which was aimed at preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. While delivering a speech at the White House, Trump said, "We cannot and will not make this certification. We will not continue down a path whose predictable conclusion is more violence, more terror, and the very real threat of Iran's nuclear breakout."
