After months of speculation, Republican Susan Collins announced Friday that she will not run for governor and will instead remain in the Senate, where she has proven to be a crucial swing vote in the GOP's narrow two-seat majority. At a Chamber of Commerce breakfast, Collins said, โ€œI want to continue to play a key role in advancing policies. I have concluded that the best way that I can contribute to these priorities is to remain a member of the United States Senate.
