Universal and Blumhouse Productions’ “Happy Death Day” earned $1 million at the Thursday box office. The movie's opening weekend is expected to bring in slightly less than Blumhouse's 2015 project, “The Visit,” earned, which went on to gross $25 million its opening weekend. The horror comedy starring actress Jessica Rothe is projected to open in the $18-20 million opening this weekend from 3,130 screens across the country. Rothe plays a college student forced to relive the day of her murder over and over until she discovers who the killer is.
