Wochit Headline News - Monday, 17 July 2017
Fresh off his two Emmy nominations for his defining turn as President Trump on Saturday Night Live, Baldwin is set to star in another NBC production: a live staging of Aaron Sorkin's "A Few Good Men." Sorkin will write the adaptation and the net's go-to event producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan are attached to executive produce. Baldwin will play Col. Nathan Jessep, a role made famous by Jack Nicholson in the beloved 1992 film, which also starred Tom Cruise along with Demi Moore and Kevin Bacon. The televised play will air in the second quarter of 2018, and will mark the first live production of a Broadway drama in more than 50 years. In recent years, NBC, under the direction of entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt, has been aggressively expanding its live output, but the emphasis has been on musicals until now.
