Answers Demanded on Fatal Police Shooting of Australian Woman

Wochit Headline News - July 17, 2017

On Monday, relatives and friends of an Australian woman fatally shot by Minneapolis police over the weekend demanded answers about her death.

Details about what led to Justine Damond's shooting remain unclear, with authorities only saying that officers were responding to a 911 call about a possible assault when she was killed.

According to comments from witnesses to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Damond called police about a possible assault in the alley behind her house.

Two officers then reportedly pulled into the alley in a single squad car to meet Damond, who was wearing pajamas.

Witnesses add that she was seen standing at the driver's side of the car when the officer in the passenger seat fatally shot her..
