Warner Bros.

may officially confirm news of a "Wonder Woman" sequel during its panel at this year’s anticipated San Diego Comic-Con.

The DC Extended Universe gave fans the first ever feature-length, live-action "Wonder Woman" film earlier this year, which has garnered highly positive reviews from both critics and fans.

The superhero flick, directed by Patty Jenkins, is also one of the most financially successful comic book movies ever made. Even so, Warner Bros.

has yet to officially announce plans for a sequel.

Now, The Hollywood Reporter reports that the studio will announce a release date for "Wonder Woman 2" during the San Diego Comic Con later this week.

Patty Jenkins has already confirmed she is working on its story treatment and that the follow-up film will take place in the 1980s, with Chris Pine set to return as Steve Trevor..
