On Friday, Cornell Brooks, the president of the NAACP said he was being dismissed after three years of leading the largest U.S. civil rights organization. The group said it is "seeking a more confrontational strategy against President Donald Trump." Brooks has also served as the chief executive of the NAACP since 2014. He said that the organization's chairman and vice chairman told him on Thursday that his contract would not be extended after it expires in June.
