Al Qaeda Senior Leader Killed by Airstrike In Yemen

The Department of Defense said in a statement on Friday, a U.S. airstrike in Yemen killed a senior al Qaeda leader in the Arabian peninsula. Abd al-Ghani al-Rasas was a terrorist leader in the region. Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook said in a statement, he died during an airstrike in a remote area of al Bayda Governorate in Yemen. Since March 2015, Yemen has been enmeshed in a civil war between Shiite Houthi rebels fighting the government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi.
